Honda Civic Sedan

The Honda Civic sedan made its debut in 1973. It was a small car in size which could seat four people. The Civic was available in the sedan style only. The sedan was powered by a 1,169cc engine that had four cylinders. It had four manual or two automatic gears. The vehicle was equipped with disc brakes, vinyl seats and back seats that could recline. The engine was upgraded in 1975 and a new engine was introduced in 1976. The new engine was a 1488 CC Controlled Vortex Combustion Chamber that met all the emission qualifications in the US. In 1981 the second generation Civic sedan made its appearance. This was a four door model. The third generation Civic sedan made its appearance in 1984. The new car was bigger in size and had a 1500 CC engine to power it. The sedan was equipped with five manual gears, a rear seat that can be folded and recline.

In 1988, the fourth generation made its debut. The new sedan was a bit longer. The car was available as a DX sedan, and a new LX sedan was introduced. The sedan derived its power from a 1.5-liter 16-valve fuel injected engine. The LX version was equipped with electronic windows and locks. In 1990 the EX sedan joined the lineup of cars available in the Honda Civic sedan line up. In 1992, the fifth generation Civic sedan made its debut. The sedan was available in three types, the DX, LX and EX. The first two were powered by a 1.5-liter engine whereas the EX was powered by a 1.6 Liter engine. The sedan had a manual gear system that had 5 gears, and there was an airbag for the driver. In 1994, all seats had airbags. The sedan was equipped with a new stereo system that could play cassettes or CDs.

In 1996, the sixth generation Honda Civic sedan hit the roads. The car was longer by two to four inches and was still offered in three versions, the DX, LX and EX. The first two derived their power from a 1.6 Liter engine whereas a VTEC engine powered the last version. In 2000, the seventh and current generation Honda Civic sedan made its debut. The sedan comes in three versions, the DX, LX and EX and is powered by a 1.7 Liter engine. The new sedan has a better body and better protection for the passengers.
