Porsche 911

Instant gratification and long resale term value define the legendary Porsche 911, which has actually been around since the early 1960s. The warmly familiar and famous rumble of the engine in this vehicle has pretty much set the standard for what a true sports car should sound like. Excepting some mid-engine models throughout the years, Porsche has earned its stellar reputation for sport performance cars due to the influential and stunning abilities of the Porsche 911.

What began as a sports car intended for wealthy and admiring car enthusiasts, has grown into a carefully designed and uniquely improved lightweight Porsche blend of power and responsiveness. The 1990 through 1994 models were the designed with an air cooled engine, all wheel drive and a Tiptronic gearbox. The next generation, which spanned the 1995 to 1998 model year were the last of the air cooled models and delivered 270 horsepower. A redesigned Porsche 911 arrived for the 2005 model year, sporting the original classic exterior design that was superbly accented with a new modern interior, active suspension system and a wider track for better handling.

The 2007 Porsche 911 is still characteristicaly charismatic and performs as confidently and comfortably at high speeds on curvaceous roads as it does during the less exciting daily commute. Several trim models are available and the size of the engine varies by model. The 911 Turbo features a twin turbocharged 3.6 liter engine that delivers an astonishing 480 horsepower. Each version of the 911 goes from 0-60-mph in less than five seconds, with the Turbo achieving this feat under four seconds. A few of the many features and options that are available include leather seats, automatic climate control and 19" wheels.

The Porsche 911 carries a hefty price tag and repairs can be costly as well. However, for top notch performance and exceptional handling, you just can't beat it.
